The Temple of the Last Sun

DM: Juan
System: D&D 5E
Level: 5
Players: 4 to 6
Player Experience: New and Experienced Players Welcome
Tone: Mystery, Adventure, Cinematic, High Stakes
Pregenerated Characters: Yes
Runtime: 3 Hours
Game Description:
The jungle kept its secret for centuries. An earthquake just changed that.
The first expedition entered the newly uncovered Temple of the Last Sun six days ago. No one came back. Their camp remains exactly as they left it: meals half-eaten, maps open to unfinished sketches, and a dead explorer beside a compass that refuses to point north. Scratched into the mud are three words: THE SUN LIES.
Now you are the second expedition. Somewhere above, beyond vine-swallowed terraces and chambers built to test the living, waits the legendary Heart of Aztara, an artifact said to grant one impossible miracle. Somewhere inside may also be the people you were sent to find.
This cinematic dungeon adventure is played across a large physical, multi-level jungle pyramid. Every terrace matters. Decode ancient riddles, survive guardians that punish careless movement, decide whether tempting relics are worth making the temple angrier, and discover why the structure was built in the first place. The higher you climb, the less certain it becomes that the treasure at the summit was ever meant to be found.
Expect exploration, puzzles, tactical terrain, high-risk/high-reward choices, rescue, and a finale where greed and sacrifice can produce very different endings.
